Commonwealth Capital provides real estate secured financing (short-term bridge and mini-perm loans) for businesses and real estate investors that do not qualify for traditional bank credit or need a rapid response.

Commonwealth Capital is a family business founded in 2010, in the wake of the Great Recession. As access to traditional credit markets dried up for many credit-worthy businesses and real estate investors, Jack Hoopes saw a market segment that needed to be filled.

Since then, we’ve been growing — Jack’s son Chandler joined the company in 2013, and now runs day-to-day operations. In 2018, Commonwealth merged with Oak Leaf Financial. And, in 2022, Excel Financial and the Frankel family of companies were acquired, cementing our position as the premier provider of commercial mortgages up to $4 million in the Mid-Atlantic region.

While we have grown throughout the years, our goal has remained the same: to provide businesses and real estate investors with the capital they need, when they need it most, and deliver the best service in the industry. We have never deviated from this mission.
